My passion has been nutrition since I’ve been a teenager when I heard on the radio that eating carrots help our vision. Why, I asked? So, as a teenager, I read and purchased every book on vitamins, nutrition and health. I continue to research and acquire more knowledge. It’s a passion for me.
In the past 30 years, I’ve been treating people who are in pain. By using massage and then acupuncture, I’ve found a way to help people with their chronic inflammation and pain. Chinese Herbal Medicine and Functional Medicine have been a great success for myself and my patients. I’m here to find the best natural, non-toxic solutions to help you eliminate or reduce pain. I’ve come to learn over the years that inflammation contributes to perpetuate the symptoms of pain. Even if the pain comes from an accident or surgery, inflammation is present. Inflammation caused by an auto-immune condition is especially troublesome. So, you see, nutrition plays a key role in reducing and stopping pain. When I was about 15 years old, (in the sixties) my father taught me how to treat his ingrown toenail. He told me I had angel fingers. I decided then to become a nurse. I was very interested at a very young age about health and medicine. My father was prescribed to drink cabbage juice for his stomach ulcer. It was the sixties, nobody heard of juicing back then. We had a juicer and juiced many vegetables. My friends thought we were weird. My love for learning about health, nutrition and medicine has never stopped since.
In 2002, my husband suffered a massive stroke.
He was left hemiplegic and in a lot of pain. After treating him with acupuncture and Chinese medicine, he totally recovered from the hemiplegia. It was a miracle. I also changed his nutrition and got him to start moving again and noticed a great deal of improvement with his pain and well-being. Whenever he ate sugar and carbohydrates, his pain intensified. I see this every day with my patients; how the slightest changes in nutrition and lifestyle can change the level of pain and inflammation. I love to share my knowledge with my patients and help them live pain free so they can enjoy their life everyday.
